Encounter Retreat


An Encounter Retreat is a tremendous opportunity to spend time in God's presence and allow Him to work deeper in your life. The weekend provides a safe place to deal with issues from the past and receive inner healing through prayer ministry. The goal is to help people understand and remove obstacles that keep them from fully being able to know and receive the love of God, their Father, to know who they are in Christ and to walk in their God given destiny.

What to expect

A typical Encounter Retreat starts early Friday evening and goes through the weekend, finishing Sunday mid afternoon. It is usually held in a location away from the church, such as a retreat center or hotel with a conference room large enough to give room for some privacy. This gives a great opportunity for fellowship, a time of getting to know one another at a deeper level, a place where real life happens.

Format

The format used is a balance between teaching and prayer ministry. Typically, throughout the course of the weekend there will be a short teaching on a specific subject followed by a time of one on one prayer ministry focused on the topic that has just been taught. The topics flow throughout the weekend building one upon another. Each participant will have a sponsor for the weekend. This sponsor will be experienced and trained in prayer ministry and will be doing the one on one ministry.

These topics make-up the general outline and it is our experience that most of them get touched on throughout the weekend, but we are committed to following the Holy Spirit. At times He leads us into corporate ministry and we find that in these times there is a powerful corporate anointing that takes place.
